Museum & Holiday Centre Aholansaari


Historical destination in the vicinity of Tahko. A holiday resort, restaurants, ‘Paavon Pirtti’ home museum of a farmer and revivalist leader in the 1800s, the summer vicarage of Kleofas Hyvämäki built in the early 1900s, an 800-seat church and much more interesting things to see.

Ahola Island (Aholansaari) can be visited on a day trip or stay longer and comfortably accommodate in a historical setting. You can get to the island by boat from Sääskiniemi pier in the summer and during the winter by ice road from Karsikkoniemi through Aholansaari to Keyritty.

The main building has a lunch cafe, Hunajan Pisara, which serves during the winter ski season and summer, as well as during reception hours there are cafes, Saaren Veräjä and a souvenir shop Puttiikki, which sells handicrafts, souvenirs and Aholansaari products.
